Happy Holidays

by on Dec.25, 2012, under Uncategorized

It’s that time of year where I show my pancreas and liver how much I loathe them both. Lots of rich, savory foods. Sweet desserts and wine. Then a month-long coma that my body forces on me.

So to everyone, happy holidays. Enjoy the food and drink, then get ready to swear them all off at the beginning of the year.

At least until Valentine’s day.

Holiday In The Park

by on Dec.07, 2012, under Uncategorized

It’s that time again.

I’m heading down to Six Flags with the fam to partake in the food and light holiday extravaganza that is Holiday in the Park.

I will be posting various comments bd pictures on all the junk food that I will be consuming along with the copious amounts of atole that I will drink. Then I will come home and nurse my food hangover for the next few days.

Ah, good times.

It’s Been A While

by on Nov.28, 2012, under Fitness and Health

It’s been a while since I posted, worked out regularly and eaten correctly. I am remedying that.

So I’ve gotten back into kickboxing, and it’s kicking my butt. I did come home and lay upon my carpeted bedroom floor again tonight with all the strength of a newborn baby left in my body, but the urge to puke wasn’t as great today. I think not loading up on smoked brisket before the workout helped.
Now passing out — wanted to do that several times tonight.
I’m eating better now as well. Back on my regular eating habits after a month of awful eating. I see and feel it and hopefully I will remember this the next time I think I need to go off the rails again.

Pretty Lights

by on Jul.05, 2012, under Music

Yesterday was Independence Day.  The day that signals a burning desire to light off sparkly explosives.

Like these:

I do have one question, though.  Why does it seem that all the patriotic music played during fireworks shows are either marches or country music?  I’m not a fan of either, although marching band music is preferred if I had to pick one.  There is only so many times that I can hear Lee Greenwood and Toby Keith (I had to look that one up, as I have just a general idea of what the guy sounds like.  I thought at first the singer was Trace Adkins, but I was mistaken) without my brain melting, and I get to hear them every year at least once a year while watching colorful explosions.

Is it like this everywhere else as well?  I would love a refreshing change one year where I don’t have to endure just country and marches.
